Several different treatments are available including : Psychological therapy, such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) or Systematic De-sensitisation. CBT helps you to understand how your problems, thoughts, feelings and behaviour affect each other. It can also help you to question your negative and anxious thoughts, and do things you would usually avoid because they make you feel anxious.
Systematic de-sensitisation has been consistently proven to be effective in the treatment of Anxiety and Phobias. In this procedure, events which cause anxiety are recalled in imagination, and then a relaxation technique is used to dissipate the anxiety. With sufficient repetition through practice, the imagined event loses its anxiety-provoking power.
Psychotherapy, sometimes referred to as talking therapy, aims to treat conditions such as Stress, Grief, Trauma, Depression, low self esteem, OCD and Anxiety. Psychotherapy allows coping strategies to be implimented, life goals to be set and relationships to be repaired and enhanced.
